We are delighted to welcome the Spurlock Museum of World Cultures as a participant of the WanBel global project.

The Spurlock Museum holds an extensive collection of Papua New Guinea art and objects, anchored by the important Tobin Melanesian Collection. Through the permanent Workman Gallery of Asian Cultures and the landmark exhibition

The Transforming Arts of Papua New Guinea (2009), the museum has shown a sustained commitment to presenting both historical and contemporary works from the region. By situating Papua New Guinea’s objects alongside those from other world cultures, Spurlock creates opportunities for visitors to engage with the artistic ingenuity, cultural depth, and global significance of Papua New Guinea’s heritage.
