National Cultural Commission
The National Cultural Commission (NCC) is a governmental organization under the Ministry of Tourisms. Arts and Culture of Papua New Guinea, tasked with promoting, preserving, and safeguarding Papua New Guinea’s extensive cultural heritage.
The NCC is a statutory body established in law in 1994 by the National Cultural Commission Act 1994
The NCC supports a wide range of grass roots cultural organisations and events across PNG as well as PNG's participation in international events such as Festival of Pacific Arts and Culture and the Melanesian Arts and Culture Festival.
The NCC also supports three national cultural institutions: The Institute of PNG Studies in Port Moresby, the National Film Institute in Goroka and the National Performing Arts Troupe, also in Goroka.
