Great North Museum: Hancock
We are delighted to welcome the Great North Museum as a participant of the WanBel global project.
The Great North Museum holds an important collection of works from Papua New Guinea, including several masterpiece malangan masks and carvings of striking artistic and cultural significance.
These exceptional pieces are presented within the World Cultures gallery, where they allow visitors to engage directly with the creativity, knowledge systems, and spiritual traditions of Papua New Guinea in a global context. Through this display, the museum demonstrates its long-standing commitment to showcasing cultural heritage in ways that spark curiosity, enrich learning, and encourage dialogue across communities.
