“This is a chance for our people to reconnect with their roots and see how their ancestors’ work continues to resonate globally.”

— Justin Tkatchenko, Minister of Foreign Affairs

The First Collective Global Exhibition

We are initiating this collective global exhibition among participating partner institutions, and we welcome collaborations taking place throughout 2025, leading up to and beyond Independence Day through to September 16, 2026.

Participating institutions are invited to create a focus on their displays of PNG artifacts and to hold events and educational programs that explore various aspects of PNG's culture, from traditional art forms to contemporary expressions.

A Celebration of All Communities

Each participating museum or institution develops its own initiatives tailored to its collection, display methods, and local and historical context. This allows for a diverse range of approaches that reflect the strengths and specialties of each organisation.

An innovative digital project in PNG showcases PNG's art treasures through immersive outdoor displays, bringing cultural heritage directly to PNG communities.
